From August 28 to 30, the Europe Zone Team visited Fr. Ondrej Tarana, a Capuchin priest and Guide in Pezinok, Slovakia. For the past three years, Fr. Tarana conducted several Workshops for Adults with a large number of participants at the Capuchin Convent of the Holy Trinity. He has also given Evangelization talla and shared Desert experiences with workshop participants, helping them grow in their love for this spirituality and deepen their evangelizing mission through the work of Prayer and Life Workshops (PLW).
During this visit, we were accompanied by Katarina Aroche, a Guide from the Zurich Nucleus and a native of Slovakia. We are deeply grateful for her presence and her valuable assistance.
Now, the Lord has blessed Fr. Ondrej with nine people who have said “Yes” to beginning a Training School for Guides.
These future Guides began their journey with a Desert experience in the mountains near Pacino, following a path up and down the mountain in silence, accompanied by God and His Creation.
Afterward, we shared a wonderful fraternal home meal prepared by a married couple who is participating in the SFG. It was a beautiful time of encounter and sharing, filled with joy and peace, warmth and fraternity. It was truly a blessing to share these moments with everyone.
In the afternoon, the First Session of the school (SFG) began, led by Fr. Ondrej. Listening to each future Guide share their personal experience of hearing and responding to the Lord’s call was deeply moving and touched the hearts of everyone present. One by one, they shared how the Lord had called them to this vocation. Each person described walking along this path with hesitant steps and a certain sense of fear -much like our future Guides are feeling at this moment. Nevertheless, it is the Lord who guides our path, and in Him we place our faith and trust for the journey ahead.
We ask for your prayers for this School and for these future Guides; that the Lord may guide this little boat safely to harbor, for His Glory, His Church, and the work of the Prayer and Life Workshops.
