On Saturday, September 26, a Sending Forth Mass was celebrated for a new Guide of the Local Coordination of Santa Cruz of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain). The Guides of the Local Coordination, together with the National Coordinator of Southern Spain, Mercedes Marrero, gathered at the House of Spirituality Our Lady of Candelaria to accompany, support, and welcome the new Guide, Jaimina Fernandez. The Mass was celebrated by Father Isidoro, Chaplain of the Home for Elderly Women, who has also accompanied us on other occasions, such as the celebration of World Guide Day.
The ceremony took place in an intimate and very family-like setting, in the Chapel of the House, beautifully prepared by the sisters for the occasion. Father Isidoro delivered a beautiful homily, emphasizing how the character of being witnesses should be shown in us in all circumstances of our lives, even in the most ordinary, everyday moments.
The new Guide expressed her gratitude for having finished her preparation at the School for Guides and for the effort made by the Teaching Guide, Senen Pilar. After the Mass, the National Coordinator of Southern Spain said a few words of welcome to the new Guide and reminded everyone of their responsibility of always reflecting being a faithful and committed active Guide. We give thanks to God for this new addition to our Coordination.
