Two Marriage Courses, from the Prayer and Life Workshops, were held at St. Anthony Parish (of Dominican Friers) in the Boa Vista neighborhood of Curitiba, Parana, Brazil. The Marriage Courses took place one from April 6 to May 18 and the other from June 15 to July 20. Seven married couples participated in each Course.
The courses were conducted by Guide Vanda Maria Hansen and her husband, Waldemar Volpato, members of the Curitiba 5 Local Coordination, which is part of the Brazil West 13 National Coordination in the Brazil West Zone.
The Prayer and Life Workshops, in collaboration with the Family Ministry and in harmony with Pope Francis’s post-synodal apostolic exhortation “AMORIS LAETITIA” (about love in the family), clearly envision the Church’s evangelizing mission regarding families; for it is the duty of the Christian community to welcome, accompany, and integrate married couples, helping them recognize the beauty of the vocation of marriage and of Christian family life.
After six intensive weeks of dialogue, listening to the Word, praying as a couple, discerning God’s presence in their lives, and weekly sharing with the group, the couples concluded the Course fully transformed and ready to continue nurturing and improving their marital relationship day by day.
“In the light of the Parable of the Sower (Mt 13:3–9), our task is to cooperate in the sowing: the rest is God’s work.” – Amoris Laetitia, 200
