From November 21 to 23, 2025, an Annual Guides’ Retreat took place in Raba Wyzna, a village in Poland, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in the Nowy Targ County (the birthplace of Stanisław Dziwisz, trusted secretary to Pope John Paul II).
The Guides from Poland-Krakow, Fr. Ondrej, a guide from Slovakia, and Fr. Piotr, a guide from Lithuania, gathered for the “Called and Sent” Retreat at the House of Spirituality of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sofferentti.
It was a beautiful meeting between brothers who shared the same language and the same feeling: to experience anew the Lord’s call to this service. The Retreat was given by Fr. Robert Kabpa, a guide from Poland who resides in Stalowa Wola.
How much we have to thank the Capuchin Community in these countries for the work of expanding our Family! They have felt a double call and now know how to transmit to the guides the entire depth of our mission for which we were called. Little by little, they have promoted this service of the Prayer and Life Workshops and are helping the lay guides live out their commitment as “Called and Sent,” with Franciscan simplicity and humility.
