The Colombia Caribbean National Coordination held its second Annual Guides Retreat, “Called and Sent,” from April 10 to 12. The gathering took place at the retreat house, Villa Claver, in Cartagena, a very significant place for our community, which we joyfully returned to after a several-year absence since the pandemic.
The retreat was organized by the Cartagena 4 Local Coordination, in collaboration with Guides Ermes Barragan and Wilmer España, and led with dedication and enthusiasm by Spiritual Motivator Guide Gloria Gomez.
In the testimonies of the participants, the common emotion was a profound renewal of their apostolate. The Guides emphasized the importance of these retreats as an essential requirement for revitalizing their spirit and mission, allowing them to deepen their personal relationship with the Lord before sharing it with others.
We recalled that the fruitfulness of our service springs from a frequent and profound relationship with God through our Spiritual Intense Moments. Only this way, by keeping alive the charism of our founder, Father Ignacio Larrañaga, can we continue to implant the living God in hearts, to generate peace, strength, and joy. “We have to keep our eyes on Jesus, His teachings and His example, so that we can clothe ourselves with His feelings and His attitudes.” – Father Ignacio Larrañaga
