It is with great joy that we share this wonderful memory with Monsignor Robert Prevost, Bishop of the Diocese of Chiclayo, recorded during the visit made in August 2019 by Sisters Irma Mejía, Maruja Facho, and Elena Ibañez, Guides of the Chiclayo Local Coordination of Father Ignacio Larrañaga’s Prayer and Life Workshops.
During this meeting, we discussed the evangelization services and their benefits to the community that we provide through the Prayer and Life Workshops Association.
Monsignor Robert (as we affectionately called him) was already familiar with the PLW work and opened the doors to dialogue and listening with great patience, showing us through his actions and words his joy at knowing our dedication as servants of the Lord.
It is noteworthy that Monsignor Prevost was one of the priests who gave his testimony in favor of the approval of the PLW work for its great benefits to the faithful. This testimony fills us with gratitude and joy.
Today, Monsignor Prevost is our Holy Father, Leo XIV, by the Grace of God, and it fills us with pride to know that he chose Peruvian nationality and to be Bishop of Chiclayo to carry out his pastoral and missionary service.
We raise our prayers to God, our loving Father, that He may guide the Church throughout the world. Our beloved city of Chiclayo in particular, and Peru in general, were filled with joy and pride, receiving this beautiful news.
When he left for Rome in 2023, at the call of then-Pope Francis, we were saddened. Today, we recognize even more the designs of God Our Lord.
